On June 29, 2024, all roads led to the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) where the 86th Commencement Exercises of Arellano University (AU) was held.
Leading the candidates for graduation were Jeisamae C. Paja, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student from Andres Bonifacio Campus, Valedictorian and Jhon Carlo O. Bonita, AB Psychology student from Jose Rizal Campus, Salutatorian.
In the morning, the four branches of AU - Andres Bonifacio Campus with 483 candidates, Plaridel Campus with 40 candidates, Jose Abad Santos Campus with 215 candidates and Jose Rizal Campus with 126 candidates had their graduation ceremonies. The Juan Sumulong Campus, with 791 candidates will graduate its students in the afternoon, from 1PM to 5PM. This brings to a total of 1655 candidates for graduation for School Year 2023-2024.
The Guest Speaker for the morning program was the Hon. Byron G. San Pedro, and in the afternoon, Capt. Ruel N. Nicolas.
The Hon. Byron G. San Pedro is currently the Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 15-FC, Taguig City. He is also the present President of the Philippine Judges Association, Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Taguig City and Professor of Law at Arellano University School of Law.
Capt. Ruel N. Nicolas graduated with the degrees Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Arts major in Medical Surgical and Nursing Administration at Arellano University. in the Philippines, after a brief stint at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Greenhills, San Juan City as a staff nurse, he moved to Centro Escolar University College of Nursing as a clinical instructor. He also had experience doing administrative work in Singapore.
He moved to New York City, USA where he gained experience in several hospitals. He presently works as a critical care nurse practitioner in New York City.
These two Commencement Speakers received the Arellano University Achievement Award for 2024 from Mr. Francisco P.V. Cayco, Chairman and CEO of Arellano University.
