Six Miss Earth candidates came to Plaridel Campus on October 10 as part of the “ I Love My Planet Earth “ school tour organized by the Miss Earth Foundation, Inc. Miss Earth is a home-grown pageant established in 2001 which promotes the protection and preservation of the environment toward a sustainable Earth.

 

The candidates are Ms. Deborah Van Hemert of Netherlands; Ms. Enkhbor Azbileg of Mongolia; Ms. Stephanie Judith Sical of Guatemala ; Ms. Vanessa Alexandra Ramirez of Paraguay; Ms. Grace Wanene of Kenya; and Ms. Luisa Soemitha of Indonesia They come from a group of 90 delegates from all over the world who are in the Philippines to showcase the country’s eco-tourism and conduct environmental activities.

 

Assistant Vice President of Plaridel Campus Ma. Cristina F. Bernardo and Assistant Vice President for Student Personnel Services Grace Cayco welcomed the guests. The candidates were presented to the student body in a short program prepared by the faculty and student leaders. They promoted environmentalism and discussed means by which students can participate in this endeavor. The students, on the other hand, entertained the guests with songs and native dances. The candidates also visited some classrooms for a more personal meeting with the students.
