Elmira Tolentino, a third-year nursing student at Arellano University- International Nursing Program, has made history as the first student to be accepted and transfer to West Virginia University (WVU) in the USA. WVU, a prestigious institution in the United States, is the newest academic partner of Arellano University. Her success marks a significant milestone for both institutions.

Her perseverance and dedication to an outstanding academic performance and passion to help those in need earned her scholarships from WVU. She was among those who received the Conway Scholarship from the Bedford Fall Foundation Grant, which aims to assist nursing students with their education and address the nursing workforce challenges in West Virginia, and the Climb Higher Scholarship for Transfer students, which is based on grade point average (GPA) received from previous institution. These grants will assist in covering her tuition and other expenses as she completes her final year in WVU School of Nursing and earn her American Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Arellano University’s International Nursing Program, established in 2006, offers students opportunity to complete their final year/s of nursing education in premiere foreign partner institutions in the USA and Australia after completing their first 2 to 3 years of studies in Arellano. This unique program is a product of international collaboration that provides advanced academic training and diverse clinical experiences to its students and prepare them for global challenges in the healthcare field.
