The seven branches of Arellano University (AU) held the celebration of the 132nd birth anniversary of AU’s Founder and first President at the Jose Abad Santos Campus in Pasay City on October 16, 2024 with the theme "Pagtataguyod ng Malayang Kaisipan at May Tinatanaw Para sa Hinaharap".
Present in the affair were the University's Board Members led by Mr. Francisco Paulino V. Cayco, Chairman and CEO; Mr. Valente V. Cayco, Vice President for Marketing and Athletic Moderator; Mrs. Alma C. Curato, Vice President for Finance and Administration. Also present was Ms. Abegail H. Cayco, Assistant Vice President for Marketing.
In attendance in the celebration were the Assistant Vice Presidents from the seven AU campuses, along with their Cluster Deans, Program Chairs, Principals and assistant Principals.
Always a highly appreciated part of the program was the wreath-laying ceremony led by CEO and Chairman Francisco P.V. Cayco, who was accompanied by the ROTC Unit led by Major Ryan Hicban.
After the solemn ceremony, students from different departments showcased their talents. The elementary department led the Opening Prayers followed by the singing of the Arellano Hymn led by the Senior High School Glee Club. Senior High School students performed the traditional "Tinikling" dance, and the Allegiance of Luminaries Presenting Artistic Stories (ALPAS), which is made up of students from different grade levels, performed the "Singkil" and other tribal dances.
The main performance of the host school's selected Junior and Senior High School students was the "Sabayang Pagbigkas" with its central theme revolving around the real life story of the Founder, Florentino Cayco Sr.
This yearly celebration is one of AU’s cherished ceremonies, as it gives a glimpse in the life of a man with the vision that would affect the lives of countless individuals who have studied in Arellano University.
