College of Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is a four-year program designed to prepare future professional nurses to provide optimum nursing care to individuals, families, and groups in any setting at any stage of the health-illness continuum.

The program is an Outcomes Based Curriculum where Professional courses are threaded through from first year to 4th year with emphasis on Nursing Concepts with corresponding Related learning Experiences (RLE). It provides an Intensive Nursing Practicum that will refine further the nursing competencies to ensure achievement of BSN program outcomes required of an entry level nurse.

Goals and Objectives

The College of Nursing aims to develop globally competitive professional nurses, who are capable of providing safe, humane and holistic quality care to individuals, families, population groups and community.

To prepare nurses who are scientifically informed, ethically, technically, socially aware, and totally committed to carry out their personal and professional roles and responsibilities:

  • The acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to function as self-driven individuals and dedicated professional nurses.
  • The development of leadership, research, and teaching capabilities of students.
  • The preparation of the critical and creative thinking skills, professional nurses who demonstrate competence for beginning nursing staff positions in health care facilities and community setting.
  • The development of socially conscious and responsive students to the health care needs of the community.
